Ingersoll Rand Cooperates with Garrett Motion to Develop Next-generation Oil-free Compression Modules

Global industrial giant Ingersoll Rand announced a multi-year technical cooperation with Garrett Motion in July to jointly develop high-speed oil-free compression modules for Class 0 clean air applications in food, pharmaceutical and precision electronics industries.

The new oil-free units will be launched worldwide in 2027 with lower energy consumption and longer maintenance intervals, raising the access threshold for high-end oil-free compressors in Europe and America. Rising R&D and certification costs of European local brands push a large number of medium & small manufacturers to switch to compliant Chinese oil-free screw compressors. Chinese factories with TÜV Class 0 certification received a 53% month-on-month surge in European orders in July.
