MIIT Releases Energy-Saving Equipment Action Plan, Emphasizing Condition-Matched Compressor Retrofits

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the High-Quality Development Action Plan for Energy-Saving Equipment (2026–2028), explicitly listing compressors as a key category of general equipment for retrofitting. The document promotes variable-frequency speed regulation and intelligent multi-unit coordinated control, requiring compressor selection to match actual load ranges and avoid over-sizing. It encourages comprehensive energy-saving retrofits of compressed-air stations in data centers, chemicals and other industries, with part-load efficiency as a core selection criterion.
