Atlas Copco Acquires Portuguese Compressor Distributor LusoAr to Complete Southern Europe Service Network

Swedish group Atlas Copco announced the acquisition of LusoAr, a major air compressor distributor based in Porto, Portugal on July 2, perfecting its full sales, installation and after-sales layout in northern Iberia. The distributor supplies industrial screw compressors, portable units and complete air treatment systems for thousands of chemical, construction and auto manufacturers.

European brands accelerated channel integration, leading to longer delivery lead times. Small and medium manufacturers in Southern Europe shifted procurement to Chinese air compressors, with outsourced local maintenance services available. Orders for Chinese compressors in Spain and Portugal rose 43% year-on-year in July.
