Baker Hughes Secures Centrifugal Compressor General Contract for US Sabine Pass LNG Expansion

Energy equipment leader Baker Hughes disclosed on July 9 that it won the general contract for centrifugal compressor units of the Sabine Pass LNG expansion project in the US, supplying large industrial centrifugal air compressors and gas-driven booster systems in bulk. The project adopts low-carbon LNG liquefaction technology, matched with ultra-high pressure, high-flow centrifugal compression systems for 24/7 stable operation at large energy bases.

Large-scale bidding for high-end centrifugal compressors was launched for new energy and oil & gas projects in North America. Cost-effective Chinese medium & high-pressure centrifugal units were shortlisted by project owners, alongside surging demand for supporting instrument screw compressors and waste heat recovery VSD models.
